Powerful and complex nose, aromas of prunes, ripe cherries and elderberries. The the aromatic palette continues with more complex, slightly mineral notes and is ends with a series of spices (cloves, star anise). Ample and smooth on the palate, very tannic fine, superbly spicy finish.
The Minervois, in Languedoc, is a vast amphitheatre, facing due south, leaning against the Montagne Noire, under the dominant influence of the Mediterranean. The stony soils are predominantly limestone.
