Domaine des Coteaux Blancs

Located in Chalonnes-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou Noir, Domaine des Coteaux Blancs owes its name to its steep hillsides, once covered with white stones that have since disappeared. These steep, sunny slopes—some reaching over 40%—constitute a demanding terroir, perfectly suited to the expression of Chenin Blanc, the estate's flagship grape variety.

The vineyard covers approximately twenty hectares and produces a range of wines typical of the Loire Valley: great white Chenin Blancs, but also Anjou Rouge, Coteaux du Layon, Cabernet d'Anjou, Rosé de Loire, and Crémant de Loire. The soils, highly diverse, alternate between schist, sandstone, sand, and ancient alluvial deposits, offering subtle and nuanced expressions depending on the plot.

Recently taken over by a new team, the estate relies on solid expertise to best express its terroirs. Vineyard management and winemaking follow an eco-responsible approach, with a strong focus on biodiversity and minimizing inputs. Having been in organic conversion for several years, the estate will produce its first certified organic harvest in 2024, marking a key milestone in a project resolutely focused on precision, freshness, and clarity in its wines.
