The deep red colour is animated by ruby reflections. The bouquet is both intense and subtle, toasted and roasted at first, before opening with fine notes of cherry, blackberry, sweet spices and vanilla. The attack on the palate is smooth and silky, a delicate prelude to a rich palate, full, dense, lined with velvety tannins. The pepper and liquorice finish brings tone and complexity.
