The appellation "Vallée Noble" or "Vallis Praenobilis" dates back to the Middle Ages when the Westhalten - Soultzmatt valley was occupied by 7 castles and several noble families... These families, affiliated with the Rhine nobility, spread the wines of this wine to the borders of the Holy Roman Empire...
