12 Australian wines inspired by the main houses of the George RR Martin saga will be available at the launch of the fifth season of Game of Thrones. Enough to be totally in the atmosphere of the show!
Like many series, Game of Thrones is at the origin of many goodies, from board games to cookbooks and t-shirts. Now, fans of the series will be able to enjoy a glass of Westeros wine in front of their favourite series, just like Cersei.
The project was initiated by the Australian creative agency Common Ventures, with 12 Westeros wines each representing a major house or group from the Game of Thrones series. The houses are associated with red or white grape varieties that represent their personality.
Thus, the houses of Arryn, Greyjoy and Stark are Sauvignon Whites, as are the bottles of the White Walkers and Sauvageons. The Lannister and Baratheon houses are Pinot Noirs, the Tyrell house is represented by Chardonnay and the Martell house by Cabernet Sauvignon. The Night's Watch and the Targaryen house are Syrah and the Dothraki tribe is Merlot.
As the Australian agency says, this wine is intended to be enjoyed with friends on the occasion of one of the countless reversals of situations that occur during the episodes of the series, to plunge a little more into the fantastic atmosphere.
Westeros wines have been available for sale since early 2015, for the first of the fifth season in the United States. The bottle of wine will cost about 13 euros in addition to shipping costs, as the wines are only available for purchase on the Internet.
The success has been such that the bottle reservation has been disabled on the site for the moment. Let us recall that the last episode of the fourth season was seen by more than 18.6 million people in the United States...
