3 unmissable sporting events in the vineyards

Today we offer solutions adapted to the most bodybuilders of our oenotourists, to combine their passion with the discovery of wines and the winegrower's job. Here are some of them.

The Baux-de-Provence car rally

Don't you know anything about wine or cars? No problem! This car rally is suitable for young and old, between visits to cellars and oil mills. With family or friends, the winemakers will open their cellars for you. In this way, the Baux-de-Provence AOP appellation becomes yours for a weekend. You will discover its terroir and traditions through three different routes, punctuated by stops at three estates and an oil mill.

The Domaine Dalmeran, the Château Romanin or the Mas de Gourgonnier will open their doors to you for a weekend. Each team will be composed of 2 to 5 people and will try to answer the quiz that participants will return at the end of the course.

The Médoc Marathon

Since 1985, several thousands of runners have launched themselves each year, in September, for 42.2 kilometres of pure pleasure. Starting from Pauillac, you will have the opportunity to cross the most prestigious appellations of the Route du Bordelais such as Saint-Estèphe, Saint-Julien or Haut-Médoc. Thanks to this not-to-be-missed event, which brought together nearly 8,000 people in 2017, you will be able to run in a relaxed atmosphere.

On the programme: 42 kilometres of fun with breaks ... a bit special! Metropolitans as well as some 3,000 foreign participants will be able to discover the Crus of the region at the 23 stands scattered along the route. They will be welcomed by an orchestra and an oenologist (present on each of the 23 stands) who will make you appreciate the terroirs of the surrounding area. To your sneakers!

The Wine Rally '4 hours: student wine tourism event

Hundreds of participants will launch this year for the 27th edition of this beautiful event. Organised by the KEDGE Business School's oenology association, this car rally cleverly combines visits to castles and discovery of the region through several enigmas. Let's be respectful of the environment: you will have to cover as few kilometres as possible to go from domain to domain! This is what earned the ecofest label for the event!

All along the route, you will appreciate the Bordeaux landscapes, the open window, your hair in the wind and your taste buds in turmoil. Your oenotourism weekend will be punctuated by disguised evenings on the theme of wine, an inter-crew meal and a big dinner at the end of the rally.
