Our story

Cultivating vines in Nuits-Saint-Georges since the French Revolution, it was really the arrival of the railway in Nuits-Saint-Georges and the commercial opportunities it created that led to the founding of Maison Moillard in 1850.
With the aim of combining respect for Moillard know-how with the use of ultra-modern equipment, a new vat house was designed in 2009 to receive and vinify the grapes harvested from the greatest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. By favouring long vatting periods during which human intervention is limited, Moillard's know-how plays the card of the expression of the terroirs and the promotion of the climates so representative of the Côte de
Nuits.
Since then, Moillard has carried out a meticulous work of vinification and maturing to bring all its wines to their full potential. Moillard, historically based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the Côte de Nuits, offers Domaine wines (Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune) and a traditional Burgundy wine signature. The old memoirs of Nuits-Saint-Georges attest that the Moillard family already owned vineyards before the French Revolution. But the House experienced a real boom in 1850, when Symphorien Moillard bought his first wines to satisfy an order too important for his estate, thus initiating his trading activity. Since then, Moillard has carried out a meticulous work of vinification and maturing to bring all his wines to their full development.
