Located in the heart of the great Montagne de Reims, our estate is established in the charming 1er cru village of Rilly-la-Montagne. I'm Dominique Beurton, the cellar master and manager of our house, and I'm passionate about making exceptional champagnes from Champagne grape varieties of different years.

Our vineyards are located on northeast-facing slopes, which influences our harvesting process. We opt for a later harvest, but this rewards us with more generous grapes, having ripened longer on the vine. Bunch selection is an essential process for us, which is why we choose to cut the grapes by hand. This ensures that only the finest grapes are harvested, enabling us to create 100% tête de cuvée champagnes, representing the very best of the juices.

This meticulous approach to harvesting reflects our commitment to quality and excellence. We believe that every detail counts in creating champagnes that captivate the senses and evoke the magic of our terroir. We are proud to share this passion with you, and to invite every champagne lover to discover the richness of our cuvées.

Our story

Our champagne estate was founded with a deep passion for the vine and an unwavering commitment to quality. The story of our estate is above all a family story, rooted in the Montagne de Reims.

I am Dominique Beurton, manager and cellar master of our estate, and I am the guardian of a winegrowing tradition that goes back several generations. My grandfather, Pierre Couvreur, was the pioneer of our winegrowing adventure. Originally from Rilly-la-Montagne, he bought his first vines in this magnificent landscape, where he always felt a deep connection. Every plot of land, every grape variety, was for him a story to be told.

Pierre's passion for the vine ran so deep that he didn't hesitate to buy vines whenever he could, even asking for financial help from his father-in-law, Louis Blémont, master clerk at Champagne Heidsieck Monopole. The bond between Pierre and Louis was much more than a financial relationship; it was a collaboration between two men devoted to the vine.

Then came the Second World War, a period that turned our lives upside down. My great-grandfather, Louis Blémont, resigned from his position at Heidsieck Monopole to support my grandmother, Marie Couvreur, through this difficult period. They shared their lives under the same roof until their deaths in 1983 for Louis and in 1985 for my great-grandmother Germaine. Their dedication and love for the vine have left an indelible mark on our family history.

In the 1970s, my mother, Ginette Couvreur, and my father, Jean Marie Beurton, took over the running of the estate. It was at this time that Beurton-Couvreur champagne was born, uniting the names of both families to create a brand that embodies our heritage.

In 2006, responsibility for the estate was handed over to myself, Dominique Beurton. I grew up surrounded by vines and the passion that goes with them. My goal is to perpetuate this tradition while innovating to create unique champagnes that reflect our exceptional terroir and our commitment to sustainability.

Our story is one of a family devoted to the art of viticulture and oenology, a story of love for the vine that is reflected in every bottle of Beurton-Couvreur champagne we produce. Our ultimate goal is to provide quality champagnes while preserving our Earth, a mission that drives us at every stage of our production process. It is with our hearts that we continue to write this story, a story we are honored to share with you, the champagne lover, and which invites you to discover the beauty and richness of our estate.

Other little stories

For me, being a winemaker is much more than a profession, it's a true vocation. It's a deep-rooted passion that has been passed down from generation to generation in our family, rooted in our roots and our love of the vine.

The extra "something" we have at home is this intimate connection with our exceptional terroir on the Montagne de Reims. It's knowing every detail of our vineyards, every plot, every vine stock. It's an absolute respect for nature and the environment, and a commitment to sustainable viticultural practices.

What inspires us is the timeless beauty of the vine in every season, from spring's buds to autumn's golden harvest. It's the idea of capturing this beauty and transforming it into a liquid work of art in every bottle of champagne we produce.

I remember an anecdote that testifies to the importance of our terroir in our work. One day, during a particularly exceptional harvest, we discovered that the grapes from our northeast-facing plot had developed a unique flavor, subtle minerality and perfectly balanced acidity. It was as if nature herself was rewarding us for our commitment to late harvesting.

Being a winemaker is much more than a profession, it's a way of living and breathing. It's a precious heritage that we preserve with dedication, while always striving to innovate and create wines of exceptional quality. It is an honor to share this adventure with you, our valued champagne lovers, and to invite you to discover the essence of our estate through every sip of our Beurton-Couvreur champagnes.
