Our vineyard is located in Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region. Just a few minutes from the village recognized on this appellation, we cultivate 6 hectares of vines in one piece. The vines are ideally planted on a gentle south-facing slope. Both in the vineyard, we work with classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, which makes up 80% of the vineyard, and Cabernet Franc. Our vines have an average age of 40 years and are planted on the great terroirs of Saint-Emilion: its gentle slope, ideal exposure and very interesting geology. We offer a red cuvée to Bordeaux wine lovers on the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé appellation. Blended from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, you can taste the different vintages from 2010 to 2016.
The story of the rebirth of this vineyard began in 2001 with the purchase of the property by Michèle and Guy Richard. The couple, originally from Charente, fell in love with this terroir and wanted to make the most of it. Both coming from wine-growing families, they set about renovating the premises and restructuring the vineyard. They were soon assisted by Mr Derenoncourt and Mr Massie, experienced oenologists, who helped them to produce the wines we know today. At the same time, Michèle and Guy began renovating the château, the wine storehouse and also the living area. The advice and study given by Mr Claude Bourguignon in 2005 means that we are perfectly familiar with each specificity of our plots. Thanks to this precious advice, we started in 2017 the conversion of our vineyard to organic farming.
At Château Cadet-Bon, you can find this pretty fountain which refers to an episode sung by Homer. The owners of the estate have made it their emblem and it can be found on all the labels of the different vintages.
