Our story

It is at the foot of the Sainte Victoire - immortalized by Paul Cézanne - a few kilometers from Aix-en-Provence and on sunny hillsides that the vineyard of Château de la Bégude extends. Originally an old Templar residence, then a post office under Louis XIV, the Château de la Bégude was bought in 1896 by the family's great-great-grandfather, Marius Rey, who turned it into a place of mixed farming and livestock activities. From now on, the estate's activity is dedicated solely to wine, and it is Didier, a descendant of Marius, who ensures the continuity of the family's know-how, as well as the development of wine-making processes specific to organic agriculture. The story of a family of enthusiasts!

Other little stories

The domain is thus passed on from generation to generation. Jacques (Didier's father, the current winegrower), was not only a winegrower: he is very handy and above all an inventor. In 2001, the Lépine competition greeted his "professional sommelier of the 21st century": an ingenious object which aims to correct the defects of the classic corkscrew, not very stable, difficult to handle... A small revolution with 3 notches and 4 and a half tendrils which deserves to be known!
