Anecdotes about the domain
In Malherbes, we cultivate the vine for centuries. It is in the modernity, while respecting the traditions that we write a new chapter of the history of the vineyard since 2014.
The domain's short story
At the gates of Bordeaux nestles Château de Malherbes in the commune of Latresne: a natural setting where vines have been cultivated for centuries. When we bought the property in 2014, we took a 180° qualitative turn. The work in the vineyards is meticulous: natural grassing, yield control, environmentally friendly agriculture, agroforestry ...The construction of a gravity-fed cellar has also largely contributed to this turn. From the arrival of the grapes in the cellar to the bottling, the transfers are made by gravity, thanks to the natural slope of the land. This process is less traumatic for the grapes, which makes it possible to create a wine of very high quality, worthy of the greatest vintages. Andreas Larsson, the world's best sommelier, has fallen in love with the wines presented by the estate, stating "Wines that outperform their peers in the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux AOC".
