Anecdotes about the domain
After passing through the wine cellars, the cellar and the tasting, do not miss the garden of Château de Reignac under any circumstances. You will find a magnificent mix of flowers and fruit trees that will awaken your sense of smell. It will also be the opportunity to return from the large greenhouse built for Gustave Eiffel.
The domain's short story
The castle as we know it today was built by Lord Baude-de-Peyron in the 16th century. During the 18th and 19th centuries, many transformations were made. A courtyard of honor was built and closed by gates worthy of the greatest castles. Gustave Eiffel was also involved in a project to build a greenhouse, which marked the beginning of a passion for flower breeding at the château. In 1990, Stéphanie and Yves Vatelot bought the property and put all their resources to work to make Château Reignac a great Bordeaux wine. They surrounded themselves with great personalities of the region such as the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland who continues to advise the estate for wines always more innovative and in the image of the owners.
The winemaker's pride
We are located at the crossroads between Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion. Château de Reignac is located in the Entre-deux-Mers region on the great terroirs of the area: the clay-limestone of the right bank and the clay-gravel of the left bank. The combination of these two terroirs offers wines with interesting but above all unique aromatic qualities. The property covers 135 hectares in one piece, including 80 hectares of planted vines. We offer 4 cuvées including 3 reds and 1 white that we distribute in 32 countries. We blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot for the reds, except for our 100% Merlot cuvée. For the white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Gris and Semillon make up our Reignac cuvée.
