Château du Rocher

We have owned and managed Château du Rocher (Saint Emilion Grand Cru) for 500 years... and the succession is ensured by my niece's 5 young sons! One generation is 25 years for official statistics: the calculation is therefore easy to do! The estate, which covers an area of 16 hectares in one piece, is almost entirely devoted to the vineyard. It is becoming very rare to find parcels of this size in one piece, due to the sharing of inheritance. The subsoil, ferruginous in many places, gives a strong sap to the wines produced, which then acquire all the organic finesse and bouquet characteristic of Saint Emilion as they age.

Our story

In 2009, in order to ensure good health, we opted for organic viticulture and have been Ecocert certified since the 2012 vintage. Always concerned about the environment, we are also certified ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System). Our vines thus regain their colour and a natural population of micro-organisms and insects.
