Anecdotes about the domain
"We work in a traditional and reasoned way. We are certified HVE since 2019. It is a real chance to have a unique terroir like "Fourcas", composed of more than 80% of Pyrenean gravel, on one of the highest points of the Medoc. The ideal terroir for the minerality, the complexity and the spicy side of the wine. All our work during the vinification consists in highlighting this asset while seeking the elegance of the fruit and the most accomplished balance at the time of the blending."
The domain's short story
Château Fourcas Dupré is located on one of the 6 communal appellations of the Haut-Médoc in Listrac-Médoc. The other communal appellations are : Margaux, Moulis, St Julien, Pauillac and St Estèphe. The Château took its current name in 1843 when Jean Antoine Dupré acquired the estate. It was Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932 and in 2003 and is now a member of the prestigious Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux.
