In the spring of 2019 Gérard Jicquel (a Breton entrepreneur) bought the Château Fourcas Dupré from the Pagès family. 50 years of good management, numerous works in the vineyard and vat room, make Château Fourcas Dupré one of the leaders of the Listrac-Médoc appellation. Today, the appellation is enjoying a very strong resurgence of interest.

Our story

Château Fourcas Dupré is located on one of the 6 communal appellations of the Haut-Médoc in Listrac-Médoc. The other communal appellations are : Margaux, Moulis, St Julien, Pauillac and St Estèphe. The Château took its present name in 1843 when Jean Antoine Dupré acquired the estate. It was Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932 and in 2003 and today it is a member of the prestigious Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux.

Other little stories

"We work in a traditional and reasoned way. We have been HVE certified since 2019.
It's a real chance to have a unique terroir like "Fourcas", more than 80% of which is made up of Pyrenean gravel, on one of the highest points of the Médoc. The ideal terroir for the minerality, complexity and spiciness of the wine. All our work during the vinification process consists in highlighting this asset while seeking the elegance of the fruit and the most accomplished balance at the time of blending".
