Our story

On the Côte de Bourg appellation, the family estate, whose origin dates back to 1757, owes its name to the mill that was previously used to grind wheat, the property being in mixed farming at the beginning. Over the generations, the estate has grown from 1 hectare in 1757 to 30 hectares of vines that include Château Croute-Mallard.

Other little stories

"Terroir is a very broad term that includes a number of concepts such as soil, climate, exposure, human activity and the adaptation of grape varieties to their environment. Defined as the "Little Girondine Switzerland", the Côtes de Bourg have an incredible topographical complexity. For generations, we have been cultivating the 15 hectares of vines in one piece around the estate as well as three 5 hectare islets in the surrounding villages. Over the years, we continue to learn how to best manage our vineyard because nothing is ever acquired and everything changes."

"Since 2010, I have been the 11th representative of our family on the estate. This family heritage has been passed down from generation to generation. This attachment to the estate therefore demonstrates all our knowledge and passion for vine growing. This is our motto"... per vitem, ad vitam" (... by the vine, for life)"
