Welcome to Château Haut-Goujon, in the Lalande-de-Pomerol and Montagne-Saint-Emilion appellation areas.
I am Mickael Garde. I run this family estate with my sister, Corinne. Four generations have succeeded each other here, including my parents, Liliane and Henri Garde. They have passed on to us beautiful values such as perseverance, sincerity, generosity, and above all love and a deep respect for the land. These values have guided our choices and have always led us to be open and curious.
Over the years, our wines have never ceased to evolve. They fully express the potential of our atypical terroir. They are made with no added sulphites or with the minimum amount of added sulphites necessary for their character and personality to fully assert itself.
To date, my partner Valérie has joined us and is helping us in this adventure. My mother Liliane, who lives on the estate, remains present.
As for Hicham, he has been tending the land and the vines for several years.
A great team to take up a great challenge!
From a know-how to a know-how, our wines resemble us and are generous and sincere.
A COMMITTED AND SUCCESSFUL ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH
Since 2011, our desire to produce wines with the lowest possible impact on the nature that surrounds us has led us to obtain the HVE 3 environmental certification.
We have therefore reduced the use of phytosanitary products as much as possible. We control diffuse pollution on the site.
All this work allows us to be in line with our values. We are convinced that this is the only way to go in the future, given the environmental emergency.
GROWING GROUNDS TO THE WINSTAll
along the winemaking process, from the moment we start blending our wines in the vats, we try, with our sensitivity, to create different musical notes.
We then compose our wines like a musical score. Hence the creation of signature wines that fully reflect our identity.
Today more than ever, anchoring to the earth and respect for the living seems fundamental to us. So naturally, considering wine as living and therefore preserving it as much as possible from chemical inputs so that it can express its personality and character, has led us to propose sulphite-free wines and to reduce the addition of sulphites throughout the production process.
Aware that living organisms have an energetic vibration directly linked to the quality of their environment, we are opening up our estate to a complementary approach which is that of geobiology. It is a question of understanding and better apprehending the influences of the surrounding environment on the quality of the vines and the wine. Thus certain natural geobiological phenomena can negatively influence plots or vats or on the contrary favour higher vibratory levels.
As for a human being, a wine with a high vibratory level will be better able to develop its potential and to preserve it, a vine will be better able to defend itself against the different climatic stresses or pressures of the diseases it will have to endure.
Our sensitivity therefore leads us to discover, use and experiment actions on the plots of vines, in the cellars and storage areas and finally on the wines.
We are convinced that this approach is complementary and necessary so that we can be more in harmony with the world around us and be able to offer singular and healthy wines.
