We are located in the commune of Saint Michel de Fronsac, in the Bordeaux vineyard. With our 1.8 hectares of vines, we are the most winegrowers in terms of size of the Fronsac appellation where our wines are produced. It is in a family and relaxed atmosphere that we produce our wines in this famous appellation of the region.
The vine is planted on a unique terroir: between valleys, mounds and escarpments, timeless landscapes emerge. We treat our vineyard as naturally as possible. The use of weedkiller has been reduced and then banned, so the vine returns to a more natural state, and you can feel it in the bottle! We harvest by hand to produce each red vintage.
The Château de la Closerie de Fronsac is famous for its sublime private mansion. The building built in the 17th century was erected by a bourgeois who saw in the Fronsac vineyard a real opportunity. For more than 300 years, this hotel has been a stopover for travellers who are passing through the Bordeaux region: a beautiful story between the curious visitors, the wines and the people behind the bottle.
When you arrive at the estate, you will be able to appreciate our charming courtyard of honour with a type of paving stone signed Napoleon III. It is this beautiful cast iron gate that will give you access to the house.
In the private mansion, and in the rooms if you opt for guest rooms, you will fall in love with this authentic and typical place of Bordeaux houses. Antique furniture, works of art and trinkets perfectly illustrate the family's taste for the French way of life.
Indeed, the vineyard of Château de la Closerie de Fronsac is indeed the smallest vineyard of the Fronsac and Canon Fronsac appellation. Although it covers only 1.8 hectares, the quality of the wine is nevertheless affected.
