The property is made up of vines in the Saint-Emilion appellation area, but also in Castillon and Bordeaux. If their core range is the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, they attach great importance to producing different wines with varied characteristics to accompany various occasions. Resolutely oriented towards quality, they strive to do their best for the pleasure of their customers, without forgetting that they remain the first consumers of their wines. In the vineyard, this means working the soil without inputs, using green manures, preventive and reasoned treatments, and no use of antibotritys. In the cellar, after both manual and mechanical harvesting, they sort the harvest by densimetric bath. The vinification and maturing take place in uncoated cement vats, stainless steel vats or 500-litre or traditional barrels; they are not currently in a label process to avoid adding a straightjacket to a sufficiently complex world and they are guided by the desire to strive for the best of their terroirs. The key words of the domain: quality, pleasure, meeting, sharing, discovery, curiosity. The easiest way is to come and see them for a visit of the property and the cellar, a discovery of the Saint-Emilion landscapes by Segway gyropod or a stay in their cottages!
Little, little, little? With wine, it is always a great story, otherwise you shouldn't get into the wine business. Mine is a conversion. My driving force has been to leave busy offices for more than 20 years, to encourage work that leads to a tangible final result and encourages meetings. I couldn't think of anything better than making wine, a dream in fact! To move from a dream to a sustainable construction, I joined forces with other enthusiasts: Jean-Noël Doublet, my first cousin, first of all and then Chantal Sclafer, initially my neighbour, both 30 vintages in Saint-Emilion to their credit! A great wine is always a collective work, the result of the meticulous work of the workers in the vineyard and the cellar master, of a multitude of details and right actions throughout the year. My credo: to understand what nature offers us and to transmit it in explanations and bottles.
Becoming a winegrower can be learned year after year. Already the 4th! But first and foremost, I have been a consumer like you for a long time. I like to discover and drink any type of wine without exclusivity, as long as I find it good. My contacts with our customers are rich. I particularly like the discussion and the experience of tasting at the estate or in the salon that the wine lover learns to identify or refine his tastes, most often that he also decomplexes himself in his approach to wine. You can just as easily indulge in the simple pleasure of a shared glass as you can enjoy, with all your senses awake, by bringing your sensory memory to a boil. My greatest pleasure: to detect satisfaction in the eye of the amateur!
Let's become partners! To share my passion, I created a Groupement Foncier Viticole. I suggest to any amateur to become co-owner of the estate's land and to buy vines in Saint-Emilion. Today, the GFV already has more than 50 partners and we will probably end up with more than 100. It is an investment per €5,000 with various tax benefits and a return of between 1.5 and 6%. In addition to giving extra soul to your money, it allows you by the proximity you can have with the property to better understand what is behind a bottle of wine, to come and participate in certain works or to be an observer, to receive your dividends in wine every year... In a word, to be involved in this beautiful adventure that is a wine-producing property without having to assume management responsibilities or even the risks of exploitation such as climate risk. The spirit of crowfunding through a full investment with a totally sustainable counterpart as long as you remain associated!
