The domain's short story
"Château Lafon, in the center of a hamlet whose name it bears, owes its fame to Dominique Douat, hailed as the great winemaker of the 19th century. Cared for in the most perfect way, it produces a very fine, full-bodied and colorful wine, ranked among the best in the region. Cru bourgeois, it carries you away in this will to do well, from generation to generation as a transmission of knowledge and good taste.
The winemaker's pride
Located in the commune of Listac-Médoc in the Listrac Médoc AOC, Château Lafon has a surface area of 14.75 hectares as well as 20 hectares of woodland surrounding the estate. The name of our estate comes from the place called "Lafon" and is located on a clay-limestone plateau where the merlot grape variety thrives. The estate is spread out over a number of parcels which are fairly fragmented allowing the grapes to reach maturity quietly. The wines are produced according to the respect of the tradition and matured in barrels during 12 months to give all its charm and its elegance to the opening allowing to spend a good moment that it is for the aperitif or to the accompaniment of a good meal.
