Château Mascard is located at Bel Air in Saint Sauveur, in the heart of the Médoc. In this 22 hectare estate is the main house with its turret, cellars and a reception room surrounded by small studios that can accommodate our customers. The vines are located a few kilometres away, on a hillside of Graves, characteristic of the best Médoc terroirs, in Saint Laurent Médoc. Patrick Leroy, owner of the Château, wanted to bring together art and wine. That is why you will be able to see during a visit to our cellars pretty frescos and tags made by the artist Blade "The King of Graffiti", as well as sculptures and other works.
The Leroy family has owned Château Barateau, Cru Bourgeois in Saint Laurent since the early 1990s. Patrick Leroy seized the opportunity in 2004 to develop his passion for wine, art and horses by acquiring Château Mascard. He has invested himself to revive this wine and offer authentic Médoc wines and a warm welcome in a setting of greenery for customers. A real pleasure for him to work around all his passions.
To be a winegrower is first and foremost to be a farmer, attached to the land, the forest and nature. It is also about creating happiness and sharing around a place, a project or simply a bottle. The notion of sharing is very dear to me and I try to transmit this important notion to all those with whom I am in daily contact. The estate allows me to share lots of good times with both the pickers and the customers directly, it's great.
Our wines are the result of careful work and an authentic terroir. The blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon will make you appreciate their finesse. We would particularly like to pay tribute to the high quality terroir from which we benefit by paying great attention to preserving the estate's environment.
