With a past dating back to the Middle Ages, the first traces of the estate date back to the 15th century. From royalty to literature and gastronomy, Château Meyre has evolved through time and its owners, who have created a unique place full of personality at the gateway to the Médoc.n A domain of human size and values, Château Meyre extends over 19 hectares in the Haut-Médoc PDO. Since 1992, the vineyard has been extended by the acquisition of 2 hectares in the Margaux PDO. A forerunner in environmental issues, respect for nature and its biodiversity, the estate converted to organic farming in 2011 after many years of sustainable farming. The delicacy and elegance of its wines, supported by the quality of its terroirs and the know-how of its teams, were once again rewarded in 2020, this time granting Château Meyre the mention of Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.
Château Meyre has always been committed to combining quality with respect for the environment, while relying on human values. We are proud to uphold this philosophy of rigour and excellence.
The château was owned by Madame Colette Lenôtre, wife of the famous pastry chef, Gaston Lenôtre, in the late 1990s. We never cease to strive for excellence while respecting nature, which is why we were one of the pioneers of organic farming in the Médoc. Our passage into Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status is a just reward for the efforts we make to bring you wines of the highest quality.
