Château Ogier de Gourgue is located 20 kilometres from the centre of Bordeaux in the commune of Saint Caprais de Bordeaux. Here, the exposure is perfect since the vines are located on a high plateau of the Côtes de Bordeaux. The vineyard's grape varieties are 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Built in the 17th century by Ogier de Gourgue, the estate was initially a hunting lodge. Then his eldest son, Marc Antoine, took over the queens of the estate and transformed this place of reunion into a wine-growing estate. Since then, the château has gone from owner to owner... In 2010, after a crush on the vineyard, Jean-Marc VINCENT and his wife decided to acquire Ogier de Gourgue. Their daughter, Claire, joined them in the adventure in 2012.
At 28 years old, everything has to be reconsidered and leave the frenetic rhythm of Parisian life to devote himself to the family project. After a career in the world of luxury and cosmetics, I am now devoting all my heart to learning the hard job of winegrower. Father and daughter, let us share our personal and professional experiences in order to make the most of our terroir. Our leitmotiv: excellence!
The first months of my return to Bordeaux were not easy. Change of city, job, universe... we had to hang on to it so as not to lose our feet! It was worth it: what a pleasure it was every year to reap the benefits of a year's work! At Ogier de Gourgue, we attach particular importance to respect for our terroir and the environment. In this regard, we have invested in a sprayer with recuperator panels for treatments in order to limit spreading and control the volumes of products used. Our will: to work on authenticity while remaining on affordable prices.
