Created in 1995 by Adrien and his wife Fabienne Uijttewaal, Château Saint-Hilaire is a 58ha family estate classified as a Cru Bourgeois. Thanks to the magnificent gravelly soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, the respectful and traditional work in the cellar, the wines are fine, elegant, fruity and of course... very good to keep. Pleasant wines, simply to share!
In 1978, when Adrien Uijttewaal came to the Médoc for the first time to do the harvest season, he had no idea that he would fall in love with this land and winegrowing. "Born on a farm in the Limousin, I have always wanted to be a farmer. My encounter with the vine changed the course of things, in part! Today, I am a winegrower and a double breeder: I raise both wine in barrels and Blondes d'Aquitaine on our meadows. In fact, these are my two passions...". These two complementary activities allow the farm to reason its environmental practices under the TERRA VITIS label.
In 2017, at the end of her studies at the Ecole d'Ingénieurs de Purpan in Toulouse, Elise decided to return to her parents' property. "I have always been passionate about agriculture, the vine, wine making. It's fascinating, you learn a little more every day. It is therefore natural for me to join the estate to develop what my parents have built.
