Châteaux Taillefer, Pomerol, and Tauzinat l'Hermitage, Saint-Emilion-Grand-Cru, have been family estates for 1 century. Since Claire Moueix and her husband Cyril Basteau took over their management in 2013, they've been nurturing their own philosophy: making wines as close to their terroir as possible. And as you'll discover during your visit, the properties and wines have a strong personality, in the image of their terroir...
Anecdotes about the domain
"When we first started working on the properties, a journalist, a lover of old wines, suggested that we do a vertical of Château Taillefer. We selected one nice vintage per decade and there, what a nice surprise! There is life in it! The wine has an old-fashioned freshness and tells a story, that of its terroir and its vintage; but also that of my family: "the 1961 vintage was made by my great-grandfather, the 1975 by my grandfather and the 1982 by my father... What a moving and unexpected encounter! Claire Moueix
The domain's short story
"Châteaux Taillefer and Tauzinat l'Hermitage have been in my family for almost a century. With my husband Cyril, we took over their management in 2013. Since then, we have been in the field, taming these beautiful terroirs that are Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. Between history and modernity, we mature our own philosophy: to make wines as close as possible to their terroir. This history, these soils, our philosophy; all this, we want to share with you, in the cellar and the vineyards or even around a glass! See you soon!" Claire Moueix
