Clos Monicord is an independent family vineyard. Joep, Mireille and their daughter Audrey acquired Clos Monicord in June 2000. The vineyard is located in Vérac, on the right bank of Bordeaux, near Fronsac and Saint-Emilion.

The balance of the soil (mainly clay-limestone) is improved by sowing cereals and legumes in the vine rows and by encouraging mechanical weeding to maintain the soil's qualities. In order to seek all the right nutrients and sugars, each vine stock is pruned and restructured to increase the leaf area and photosynthesis, on the one hand, and to bring the grapes back to the heart of the vine, on the other hand.

The philosophy is to harvest grapes that have reached full maturity, to sort and choose the best bunches; which is the guarantee of a better vinification in the vat room and cellar. Monicord wines are honest wines, expressing the fruit, minerals, aromas and nutrients of the vines. The aim is also to present qualitative wines in original, creative and innovative packaging (packaging) to reach a sensitive public of all ages.

Our story

Year after year, they have worked and restructured the vines and the vineyard, giving priority to sustainable agriculture. Since the beginning of the adventure, they have been producing red wines and have gradually expanded their range of wines by also selecting white and rosé wines.

Audrey is also an artist and designs the labels so that each wine tells its story with its packaging and packaging.

Other little stories

An artist at heart, Audrey bears the Clos Monicord brand on various products: artstyle, homestyle, foodstyle and winestyle.
