Le Clos Roussely is located in the heart of the village of Angé, in the Loire. Since 2007, the 8 hectares that make up the vineyard have been managed according to the specifications of the Organic Agriculture certification. Our oldest vines are more than 80 years old. It is in the respect of the environment that we maintain our terroir with soil scratching or ploughing.

When we work on the oldest vines on the estate, we go with the horses. Thanks to them, we are able to protect the diversity of plants and animals in and around the vineyard.

Don't be surprised if you see horses, sheep or donkeys on the estate. All harvests are almost exclusively by hand.

Our story

Le Clos Roussely is an outbuilding of the village castle since the 18th century. Since the middle of the 20th century, the family has maintained and developed the farm in accordance with tradition.
Vincent the current owner represents the 4th generation
installed on this site.
In 1917, Anatole, the great-grandfather, bought Le Clos and settled down as a winegrower and distiller. Marcel, the grandfather, developed the vineyard and created a wine trading company in 1947.
At the
beginning of the 1980s, Jean Claude and Nicole, Vincent's father and aunt, devoted themselves to the development of the trading company and left it to a village winegrower to take care of the
Clos
vines
.
Vincent Roussely decided to take over the operation and buildings of the former business in 2001. From then on, he never ceased to give new life to this place, to develop it to better welcome and share his passion for
wine.

Other little stories

We work to make wine the way we like to drink it: airy, authentic & friendly...
And we like to experiment on one of our vintages, the ageing in amphora which brings an exchange of oxygen as interesting as
wood.

Working in amphoras requires a lot of work, supervision and delicate handling, but offers many advantages because the natural origin of the clay and the neutrality of the terracotta respect the purity of the fruit and the expression of the

terroir.

This allows us to offer vintages without any inputs and to have a range of Natural Wines.
