Clos Triguedina is the birthplace of the Baldès family since 1830, spread over the most beautiful terroirs of the Cahors appellation in 2nd, 3rd and 4th terraces! Jean-Luc Baldès, a worthy heir and daring winegrower, often repeats: "The magic of Clos Triguedina is the richness of its terroirs that allows me to give free rein to my imagination".
In 1830, Etienne Baldès planted his first parcels of Cahors, at Clos Triguedina. He had spotted the most beautiful terraces in the Lot valley. Since then, 7 generations of winegrowers have ensured the continuity of the estate! The vineyard, partly destroyed by phylloxera in 1877, was then replanted. Protected by a microclimate, it will only be partially affected by the big frosts in 1956, which allows us to have today a relatively old vine stock on the top-of-the-range vintages. René Baldès, a renowned winegrower, will participate in the creation of the first union of Cahors wines as well as the Confrérie. Jean Baldès, a passionate winegrower always in search of innovation, built the first stainless steel vat room at the AOC Cahors in 1976. In his life as a winegrower, he doubled the surface area of the vineyard and turned towards the production of fine wines, and today Jean-Luc Baldès, with his wife Sabine, of Burgundian origin, ensures the family continuity at the head of the estate. Jean-Luc Baldès has built a reputation as a "master of Malbec" and Juliette Baldès, the daughter of Jean-Luc and Sabine, decided at the age of 5 to become a winegrower and continue the history of the Baldès family at Clos Triguedina. For the moment she is following her studies with this objective in mind, encouraged by her little brother Jean, who is also very interested in everything that is happening at Clos Triguedina.
The most striking recent anecdote is the metamorphosis of Clos Triguedina in 2017/2018 in terms of wine tourism: the creation of a very beautiful architectural complex "Pavillon des Vins" built in the heart of the estate, a real luxury showcase to welcome visitors in exceptional conditions. this investment marks the desire to carry the torch of the estate even higher. The Wine Pavilion, with its contemporary architecture, and its annexes (museum, educational workshop, office) established in the renovated old buildings are pleasant places of welcome both for business tourism and for private tourism in groups or individuals: the museum presents a showcase "Les dorures de la république française" in which more or less recent menus (mentioning the wines of Clos Triguedina) from the Elysée, the Senate, Ministries.
