Anecdotes about the domain
Eugène Carrel was the first in our region to turn completely to viticulture in 1970, and to produce sparkling wines with subtle blends. This pioneering spirit and quest for harmony continues to guide us today, to offer wines that reflect our terroir as closely as possible. "A successful wine is the fruit of the alliance between soil, climate and the work of men."
The domain's short story
Since 1830, our Domaine has been located in Jongieux, Savoie, the historic birthplace of the Altesse (Roussette) grape variety, between the Rhône and Lac du Bourget. The vineyard's location on the foothills of Mont du Chat and the steep slopes of Mont de la Charvaz makes vine-growing difficult, but in return offers exceptional exposure.6 generations of winegrowers, we're embarking on a new phase of wine tourism development to better reflect our know-how and share our passion: the alpine quest for wine!
