The Ventoux after the Vercors! In 2016, we took a 180° turn and became winegrowers in the Vaucluse at the foot of the "Giant of Provence". It was quite an adventure shared with friends who are partners in a Groupement Foncier Agricole. It was a crazy project, because there was no history of the estate to pursue here, no equipment, no facilities... ! But a project that makes so much sense. To make something beautiful, something good, by feeling connected, with nature and the world! The Domaine is in one piece, surrounded by woods of Mediterranean species. It consists of 4.5 hectares of vines, 2.7 hectares of which are in production (Syrah and Grenache) planted in 1985. We have cleared 1.7 hectares to plant a little Marselan, and white wines (Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussane and Vermentino) which will be ripe in 2021. Located in the Piedmont du Ventoux, on sandy-clay soils, we take advantage of the freshness of the "Giant". We work in Bio and Biodynamics, of course! .
Childeric, that's our name! We would have liked so much to call the Domaine "Les Rois Fainéants" (report to the Merovingians, revision for all and questioning soon!) But a vintage already exists with this name.... Snif! So we called our Gîte "Les Rois Fainéants le Gîte Nature" ... And we have a vintage called "Pas Fainéants" !
