(84) Vaucluse
The Ventoux after the Vercors! In 2016, we took a 180° turn and became winemakers in the Vaucluse at the foot of the "Giant of Provence". A great adventure shared with friends associated in a Groupement Foncier Agricole. A rather crazy project, because there was no history of the domain to pursue, no equipment, no facilities... ! But it was a project that made so much sense. To make something beautiful, something good, while feeling connected with nature and the world! The Domain is in one piece (8,5 ha), surrounded by Mediterranean woods. It is made up of 4.5 hectares of vines, 2.7 hectares of which are in production (Syrah and Grenache) planted in 1985 and 1.7 hectares cleared to plant a little Cinsault, and whites (Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne and Rolle) that we are bottling for the first time. Located in the Piedmont of Ventoux, on sandy-clay soils, we take advantage of the freshness of the "Géant". We work in Bio and in Biodynamie, of course!
Childeric, that's our name! We would have liked so much to call the Domaine "Les Rois Fainéants" (report to the Merovingians, revision for all and questioning soon!) But a vintage already exists with this name.... Snif! So we called our Gîte "Les Rois Fainéants le Gîte Nature" ... And we have a vintage called "Pas Fainéants" !
