Jean-Charles and Vincent, the two sons of the founder Paul Croset, are now at the head of the estate. A small artisanal and still family business, very interested in all the technical and environmental developments that the winegrower's profession is experiencing. The magnificent terroir of the Dentelles de Montmirail where the estate is located offers wines of remarkable quality.
Apart from the beauty of the landscape, the soils and the microclimate allow the winegrower to have a high quality raw material. Their job is then to sublimate
these grapes!
This massif is located between the Rhône Valley and the Ventoux, thanks to the study of the soils, we were able to determine that it was the oldest land in the
Vaucluse! The

vines gradually settled where before the war the forest took

place.

Rich region for strolls, walkers will be able to enjoy the small villages linked by pleasant and practical paths for the greatest number of people. Climbing enthusiasts are also welcome as the relief offers beautiful steep cliffs

Our story

For the record, the Cassan site has been occupied since the Roman period, and perhaps even before! The name Cassan comes from Cassano which means "oak" in pre-celtic. When you see the beauty of the landscape of Provence, it is not very surprising that already at that time, people chose to settle there.
The Romans had also cultivated vines in these territories. The wine was produced, bottled and exported to Italy.
From
that time on, vines have always been more or less present in the region and they returned in force a few years
ago, after the war.
In 1974, Paul Croset decided to start up this historic vineyard and bought the Cassan estate, where he built a cellar in order to produce wine.
It is in
2010 that the two sons take over the estate, 18 hectares in total with 15 hectares in the Beaumes de Venise appellation and the rest
in Ventoux. The

vines used are between 4 and 40 years old, the grape varieties that you will find on the farm are grenache, syrah, mourvèdre and cinsalut

.

For the harvest, everything is done by hand. The punching down is also manual!

The wine is

aged in vats and barrels

.

Other little stories

The village is located on an old Roman road! The road connected Malaucène to Gigondas. There is a small chapel renovated in the 1980s dedicated to the patron saint of travellers, Saint Christopher.
