The Champ-Fleury estate is located in the heart of the Pays des Pierres Dorées, 10 kilometres from Villefranche-sur-Saône on a hill surrounded by vineyards. The landscape is composed of gently rounded lines with the silhouette of Mont Blanc in the distance, which appears on clear days. Calm and tranquility are felt everywhere. Here Beaujolais is king. The exposure of the vineyard is ideal: the vines are located on a clayey-limestone soil, oriented towards the rising sun.
I took over the family estate following my father in 2007 who took it over from his parents in 1972. The buildings are about 400 years old. It is not clear when the estate was created so many generations ago. We are all animated over the generations that follow one another by the same passion: that of producing authentic wines from artisan winegrowers. In a winegrower's wine there is always the "claw" of the person who makes it. Each producer brought his or her own personal touch. My father started the process to become Terra Vitis. We had no choice because this approach really corresponds to our philosophy.
Heir to the Beaujolais tradition, we perpetuate every day the gestures transmitted by our ancestors, and we do everything possible to ensure the longevity of our vineyard (some of our vines are more than a hundred years old!), but also and especially the quality of our production, because a quality wine can only be made with quality grapes!
Concerned about the environment around us, in 2004 we committed ourselves to a sustainable agricultural approach called Terra-Vitis. Our range of grape varieties allows us to make a varied range. Since I was a child I wanted to be a winegrower, as soon as I had a free moment I would join my father in the cellar or in the vineyards. And this, before I could even walk, I would go down to the cellar on my buttocks! The winegrower's profession often leads to reflection. The long, quiet days allow me to think about how I can improve my production even more, but at the same time, the job teaches us humility.
