Located in the heart of Beaujolais, Domaine de Croifolie is a family estate that has existed for three generations and extends over granitic soils. Founded in 1927, the estate has been passed down from father to son. All our wines are produced from a single grape variety, Gamay Noir, and are produced in accordance with tradition. Due to the many slopes surrounding the estate, the vines are not mechanized, most of the work is done by hand. The harvest is picked, on sometimes dangerous slopes that our pickers remember! Handcrafted, we preserve all the qualities of this fragile grape variety, the Gamay Noir.
Domaine de Croifolie is a family estate that has existed for three generations and extends over 8 hectares. Founded in 1927 by Louis Crozet, my grandfather. The estate was then passed on from father to son. It was taken over by Jean Crozet, my father, and then in 1994 by myself. I gradually wanted to diversify the production by creating new vintages from a single grape variety, Gamay Noir. I also wanted to promote our appellation "Beaujolais-Villages" by creating a range that tells the story of our estate....
For me, wine should be enjoyed in moments of sharing and conviviality. I work with the wish to bring this moment of pleasure and gustatory discovery to wine lovers. The profession of winegrower seems to me to be one of the most beautiful professions, because the purpose of our work is to give a moment of pleasure to the one who tastes our wines.
History has invited itself to the Domaine de Croifolie.... Archaeological excavations have been carried out on parts of the estate. Remains of the Gallo-Roman period have been found there and it would seem that vine work was already part of the activity of our ancestors. In 1798, a meteorite fell into a vineyard a stone's throw from the cellar.
