There are about ten parcels of land that make up the Fontbertière estate. Plots of Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. The farm is mainly located on hillsides and the harvest is done by hand.
When the estate was created, only one vine more than a hundred years old remained. Since 1987 I have been observing the vinification process in the first place. In 2006, I decided to make wine on this family property while I was still practicing my profession as an insurer. In 2009 I decided to devote myself full-time to the operation of the estate.
When I started to work in the vineyard, only 10% of us were women, and over time, the presence of women as close as possible to the land became more and more widespread. I have many memories with the vines, it was the vines that made me want to devote myself to it, especially my first harvest in 1987, it rained ropes and it was terrible, but it is a memorable memory! We then had lunch at the foot of the vineyards, the terrain was difficult to access. It is this proximity to wine, to the moments it creates, around a meal, a moment of sharing that encouraged me to devote myself fully to it... It is a stressful job where you can do stupid things and risk a lot but that is what is wonderful, we live and create, and share moments.
