Located in the village of Servian, between Béziers and Pézenas, Domaine de la Baume covers more than 190 hectares. The richness of our terroir is the diversity of the soils. Between semi-hills and plateaus, the soils vary from chalky clay to chalky pebbles and chalky clay. Combined with the ideal sunshine for the development of the vine, we can produce wines on a wide aromatic palette, we are very attached to the nature that surrounds us: the estate is the haven of peace that we needed. Benefiting from the hot weather of the South of France, we can cultivate the Languedoc grape varieties: Syrah, Viognier, Cabernet-Sauvignon or Chardonnay. Our 7 flagship vintages are not blended, they are the pure fruit of the terroir and it is in this way that we can best bring out the aromas of our land.

Our story

After the phylloxera crisis in France, the Domaine de la Baume was completely abandoned. In 1882, Jean Prat bought the estate and used all his resources to restore the farm's reputation, and in just 20 years, with the support of his sons, he managed to restore the 100 hectares that make up the estate and restructure the entire vineyard. At the beginning of the 20th century, he opened a shop in the new Haussmann Paris and the business prospered. Between the middle of the 20th century and today, many changes of ownership took place until 2003. Joseph Helfrich, General Manager of the Grands Chais de France, sees this as an opportunity not to be missed: the man, surrounded by his family already well established in the sector, is exploding the estate thanks to his international reputation and the resources he makes available to the estate. The Domaine de la Baume wines are now multi-medal and distributed on five continents.
