Today, there are only a few winegrowers - out of all the Muscadet appellations - who produce only the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety. This is the case of the Ollivier brothers who, since their...Lire plus Learn more
A family property for 7 generations, our Domaine extends over 27 hectares, in the commune of Maisdon sur Sèvre, at the crossroads of two charming rivers, La Sèvre Nantaise and La Maine, which have given their name to the Muscadet Appellation Sèvre et Maine. For more than 35 years, this estate has been run by two brothers with an ideal complementarity, Jean-Luc and Guy. Here, the wines come from different geological origins: granitic and clay soils, gravel and sandy silts. The vines, only in Melon de Bourgogne grape variety, are between 30 and 75 years old.
The love of wine was born from our first steps in our grandfather's cellar, and it started very early: we were 4 years old! And one day, while trying to imitate him, Jean-Luc went there alone, turned the key of the barrel which was badly closed. And there, a precious nectar has flowed out! After several years of passionate learning in our single grape variety terroirs, we are trying to share with all wine lovers all the richness that our wines can bring. We are pleasure builders, dream sellers!
From our earliest childhood, we spent a lot of time with our grandfather who was already taking us to the cellar. He shared with us his passion for this beautiful terroir and this delicious nectar. It didn't take much longer to succumb to this family passion. Each of our vintages reflects a little of our character: it ranges from the ardour and vivacity of our young wine vintages to the wisdom and elegance of our Communal Clisson Cru. It is our latest product and was recognized by the INAO in 2011, after more than ten years of administrative procedures, and we are very proud of it!
We claim to be a bit of an artist. Indeed, we are composers of nuances! We are always happy to introduce this range of wines which - in its youth - combines freshness and fruit, offers woody evolutions on certain vintages and - in the maturity of old vintages - offers the complexity, richness and elegance of our Cru Communal Clisson.
