The estate is made up of about fifteen plots of land spread over a little over 9 hectares where the Syrah grape varieties are grown for the most part (98%) and Viognier for the rest. The estate's vines are mainly on the famous "Brown" terroir (80%) of Côte-Rôtie with terroirs of schist and iron oxide, while the more "Blond" ones (20%), located in the south of the appellation, grow on more degraded rocks with finer soils. This majority of brown terroirs bring structure, complexity and a beautiful natural ageing potential, whereas the blond part when adds finesse and elegance to the wine. Some of the slopes are very steep and exceed 60% slope with a south/south-east exposure. As for the Condrieu, it develops on the granitic terroirs of Saint-Michel sur Rhône allowing it to express the aromatic complexity of Viognier while preserving its minerality, freshness and balance. Since July 2020, the estate has obtained its H.V.E. (High Environmental Value) certification, which recognises the efforts made by the estate to produce the most accomplished wines while seeking to preserve the slopes and their environment as much as possible.

Our story

The estate was created in 1976 by my grandfather André Drevon. In 1980, André created with his son Louis "Le Gaec de Syrah", the former name of the estate which became the Domaine des Rosiers in reference to the place called "Rozier" on which a large part of the estate's vines are planted. I took over the estate from my grandfather and my uncle and continue to write its history, notably by extending the range of our Côte-Rôtie wines and by producing in the Condrieu appellation as today 0.5 hectares of vines are dedicated to it.

Other little stories

You don't become a winegrower overnight, it's a long-term job. My passion for wine came from a very young age. When I saw my grandfather and my uncle working on the estate, I was always interested and I always liked to help them. They made me want to take over the family estate and continue to write its beautiful history. My oldest memory was the first harvest I did with my grandfather. My earliest memory is of my first grape harvest with my grandfather, which will remain engraved in my memory, because that's when I realized that I wanted to become a winegrower. My main motivation today is to continue to develop our estate but also to produce wines worthy of a job well done.
