Anecdotes about the domain
Being a winegrower means transcribing what we love and what makes us vibrate. The work of the soil is something we must love and it is our case, that is why we respect it and make it a point of honour to work our vines and therefore our wines according to the BIO specifications, wine is a passion and a pleasure. That's what drives us. You don't need to be a great connoisseur to appreciate wine. Love makes it a good wine for us and the same for us and the same for the opposite, this thing can be different for our neighbour. This is one of the points that makes wine interesting. Our wines are offered to you because we love them and we hope you will find us in this opinion.
The domain's short story
Nicolas Grosbois, is a child of the Indre et Loire. He grew up in Bréhémont on the banks of the Loire and has a particular affection for this part of Touraine. The hazards of life have made the young winemaker see the potential of these vines develop year after year. The Domaine des Hauts Baigneux was born. He shares the exploitation with his associate and friend Philippe Mesnier.
The winemaker's pride
Philippe Mesnier and myself, Nicolas Grosbois, took over this farm in 2012. We work the terroirs of Azay le Rideau, Cheillé, Saché and Vallère. The surface of the domain is about 11 ha. It is divided as follows: 9 ha on a clay-limestone terroir and the remaining 2 ha are on the commune of Saché, under the Calder workshop, on a magnificent flinty clay terroir planted with Chenin blanc. We produce the two colors authorized by the Touraine Azay le Rideau appellation, i.e. white and rosé. We also produce red wine in the Touraine appellation on these same soils. Finally we produce natural sparkling wine in white and rosé.
