Anecdotes about the domain
A winegrower must be passionate about his job, you can't do it like any other job. You have to be a bit "original" and a bit "dreamy" to embark on this adventure. A meeting with Thierry Augier at Chateau la Grace Dieu in Grand Cru Saint Emilion was very formative for me in the organization of work and the reception of customers at the estate.
The domain's short story
I told you above: I am the 5th generation of winegrower on the vineyard and the idea of making a domain was that of my parents who unfortunately could not go to the end of the project. It is with an immense motivation that I put in place their project with my brother. We start the activity since 2014, where we invest little by little in fiberglass tanks, we made the choice to acquire a manual press to keep the authenticity of the work by hand. We are going to go through the steps slowly to increase our production which is today 4000 bottles (very small!) to arrive I hope at 50000 bottles.
The winemaker's pride
Winegrower at heart and for 5 generations, my name is Gregory and I am the manager of the Domaine des Maladières, the domain is located in Vézénobres a pretty little medieval village at the foot of the Cevennes massif. We are on a rather heterogeneous terroir that varies between marl clay, limestone clay, sandstone. We make wine with very low yields with southern grape varieties such as Carignan, Syrah, Grenache. We make wines with our hands, because all the work in the vineyard is done by hand (pruning, harvesting, green harvesting, harvesting, pressing ...) We have two ranges "Grains de Louna" which for the little story bears the name of my niece who was born the day of the first harvest! and "Vin d'Anges" which refers to my two sons.
