Domaine des Montèzes

At the foot of the Larzac, several generations succeed one another on this small vineyard located in Pégairolles de l'Escalette, one of the first winegrowing villages in the north of the Hérault department.
The cultivation of our vines on terraces at an altitude of over 300 metres, on limestone scree and the north-south exposure of the valley give our wines a beautiful freshness and a recognised typicity.
In 1995, for the construction of the motorway, the cellar and the buildings of the estate were destroyed. Faced with expropriation, our family decided to acquire the Domaine des Montèzes, 30 km from the original estate. It is there that today we vinify our syrah, grenache, carignan, muscat,... that is 10 different varieties in total, from our beloved acres of Pegairolles.
Living as close as possible to nature and anxious to preserve it, we are certified in organic agriculture.

Our story

Following our expropriation of Pegairolles, we have been on stand-by for a few years... In 2007, we put our foot back in the stirrup. And quite naturally, in the image of the literary work that we appreciate, we named our blended vintages "Regain". As with the characters of Giono, it was a rebirth.
