Thierry Germain observes the plant, listens to it, every day, to better provide it with what it needs to flourish. He strives to remain humble in front of each vine stock, considering it as a unique being. It is the plant that makes the wine. Being one with it and with the terroir is the main objective, this approach is only possible through the support of a united team that looks in the same direction. Revitalize the subsoil, revitalize and respect the vine so that it becomes what it was originally, a simple vine. The same applies to wine. Here again, do not rush him, listen to what he wants to say, find him the ideal container and always work on the mass to preserve the fruit... Because Thierry and his team are among those who think that only a natural beverage brings us closer to what we are all looking for, conviviality in tasting....
Thierry Germain took over the domain of new rocks in 1992, at the age of 22. Over the years he matures... his ideas evolve. In 2002, he decided to turn to biodynamics and chose to take risks by disrupting his working methods, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. His work was rewarded in 2011 when he was elected best winegrower in France by the Revue des Vins de France, but the questioning remains a daily one. 2012 is a major turning point for the estate since, despite the complexity of the latest vintages, the wines finally reflect the notion of purity, energy and elegance sought, the result of a perfect balance between the plant and man.
