Domaine du Chardon Bleu

We've always worked our vines and wines according to the specifications of the Grignan les Adhémar aop, but since 2022, we've been involved in an experimental project, piloted by the Dieulefit Bourdeaux community of communes, to go much further.In fact, we are currently working on 3 areas to tackle climate change: life in the soil (by breeding our micro-organisms using a lombri-compost), agroforestry and the study of local flora and fauna to combine changes that will guarantee tomorrow's agriculture.

Our story

Domaine du chardon bleu was born out of Manu's and my shared passion for wine: when we met, he was a winegrower and I was in a completely different line of work, but passionate about wine. We naturally decided to create our own winery together. Domaine du chardon bleu is located at the eastern end of the Grignan les Adhémar PDO, in the southern Rhône valley. Our vines are planted between 350 and 450 meters above sea level at the entrance to a valley, in a veritable Mistral corridor: in fact, when the Mistral starts to blow, we often make arrangements to go to sheltered plots, at the risk of not being able to work! This configuration produces highly aromatic wines, often marked by a surprising freshness for Rhône Valley wines, and by spicy notes (pepper, garigue...) which are very present in our red wines.
