The domain's short story
The vineyard is century-old and all our grapes are hand-picked. We are committed to the greatest respect for the ecosystem, and we cultivate our vines just like every living organism. A living wine! The expression of this exceptional terroir between sea and mountains. We are inspired by biodynamic agriculture, agrobiology and we work our wines in litho-therapy. Every natural element that makes up this ecosystem has been treated with the greatest respect in order to produce our wine. We adopt the notions of permaculture and biodynamics in order to restore a balance favourable to all. In the cellar we mature the wine in oak barrels for 14 months, with very little sulphites for the 2014, 2015, 2016 vintages and no sulphites added for some of our 2017 vintages. We seek to produce a wine that is good for the health by keeping all the active products (very little filtering). We are also inspired by litho-therapy (use of the energetic power of stones and rocks) as well as music therapy (use of music for therapeutic purposes).
The winemaker's pride
Le Phénix was reborn in 2014 when Christian Marti, along with his family and a few close friends, took over this little corner of paradise located in Peyriac de mer in the Corbières maritimes. These old vines, 70 years old on average, are made up of 4 grape varieties: Carignan, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah. They are cultivated in the lands of the Mediterranean, swept by the cold winds of the northwest and the warm and humid sea of the Mediterranean basin.
