Le Phénix was reborn in 2014 when Christian Marti, accompanied by his family and some close friends, took over this little piece of paradise located in Peyriac de mer in the Corbières maritimes. These old vines, 70 years old on average, are made up of 4 grape varieties: Carignan, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah. Exploited in the Mediterranean lands, swept by the cold northwest winds and the hot and humid sailor of the Mediterranean basin.
The vineyard is a hundred years old and all our grapes are hand-picked. We are committed to the highest respect for the ecosystem, and we cultivate our vines just like every other living organism. A living wine! The expression of this exceptional terroir between the sea and the mountains. We are inspired by biodynamic agriculture, agrobiology and we work our wines in litho-therapy.
Each natural element that makes up this ecosystem has been treated with the greatest respect in order to produce our wine. We adopt concepts of permaculture and biodynamics in order to restore a balance that is favourable to all.
In the cellar we age the wine in oak barrels for 14 months, very little sulphites for the 2014, 2015, 2016 vintages and no added sulphites for some of our 2017 vintages. we aim to produce a healthy wine by keeping all the active products (very little filtered). We also draw inspiration from litho-therapy (use of the energetic power of stones and rocks) as well as music therapy (use of music for therapeutic purposes).
