A family vineyard of 60 hectares on the heights of Valréas, the Domaine du Séminaire is entirely worked in organic farming with a penchant for biodynamics, particularly in the cellar where we use the lunar calendar.
Today, we cultivate various grape varieties on the estate to produce our white, rosé and red wines: grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, carignan, viognier, roussanne, marsanne, clairette, grenache blanc... The estate is located between 300 and 400m above sea level on clay-limestone and saffron soils. The wines are very fresh and fruity with mellow tannins.
For me, wine is a family affair. In the Pouizin family, we are all winegrowers and organic! My grandfather taught me a lot and especially taught me to observe and take care of the plant... I am the 4th generation on the estate.
Today my wines are the expression of the magnificent terroir and domain that my ancestors left me. Fresh, straightforward, straightforward, fruity. It is also thanks to them that I am here because of what they have taught me and the care they have given to their land.
For me, wine is made above all in the vineyard: it is with beautiful fruits that we can make beautiful juices! I attach particular importance to my vines, and I spend a lot of time there and I learn again and again, every year. No weedkiller, no chemical fertilizer and no synthetic products... and a lot of pleasure in observing the plant and all the living things around us.
I am not very involved in the cellar during and after vinification. The terroir, the fruits must be able to express themselves: a few pumping over with or without air more or less regular for 4 to 5 weeks and the miracle happens: the wine is there, the expression of the terroir, the freshness, the fruit everything is there. It's very simple so all you have to do is taste and enjoy our wines as much as we have had to make them.
