It is in the heart of the Alpilles massif that you will find the Vallon des Glauges estate. The 72-hectare estate links the Eyguières site to the Baux de Provence, it extends from the Tour des Opies to the foot of Mont Menu. Of the 72 hectares, 45 are hectares of vines planted in the middle of 4 hectares of olives and 23 hectares of scrubland and woodland. The vines are arranged on slopes, on the plateau but also in the valley. As the estate is committed to preserving and respecting nature and the environment around them, they have for years adopted a sustainable farming system in order to reconcile the needs of the vine with ecological requirements. The vine can thus evolve in a site of great richness, whether for its unique landscapes, its rare vegetation and its protected fauna. This richness allows our estate to produce gourmet and expressive wines that are representative of their terroir. Like our rosé, the jewel of the Vallon des Glauges, which develops a beautiful aromatic palette on white flesh fruits and blends perfectly with our southern cuisine.
Grandson of a winegrower, we have been producing wines in the Coteaux d'Aix en Provence appellation for 3 generations. Different domains, but always with the same objective of expressing the potential of the terroir concerned. Today, the estate of the Vallon des Glauges offers us a fantastic range of wines that allow us to produce very contrasting wines with always this common framework, a sign of a strong terroir.
For me, the passion for the wine world starts in the vineyards. It took years, and meetings to find so much interest in the cellar. Many experiences in the countries of the new world (USA, South Africa, Argentina, Australia) have allowed me to acquire a very enriching oenological background, especially for the vinification of rosé wines... The many trips have also awakened me to wine marketing, today I deeply regret the hypocritical enthusiasm of organic marketing. This is why reasoned cultivation seems to us to be more coherent and more adapted to our production. The Domaine du Vallon des Glauges is planted with twelve grape varieties, Ugni Blanc, Rolle, Chardonnay, Clairette, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise. Each year we produce 60% rosé, 25% red and 15% white.
