The estate of the Vallon des Glauges is nestled in the heart of the Alpilles massif, it extends from the foot of Mont Menu to the Tour des Opies, thus linking the Eyguières site to the Baux de Provence. The estate covers an area of 72 hectares composed of 45 hectares of vines, scattered in the valley, on hills, on the plateau and facing due south, 4 hectares of olive trees and 23 hectares of woods and scrubland. Concerned about preserving nature while providing it with the best possible development, Domaine du Vallon des Glauges has long since adopted a sustainable farming system that guarantees a total synergy between the needs of the vines and the requirements of the ecosystem. Planted in the old bed of the Durance which flowed directly into the sea through the threshold of Eyguières, the site is known for its unique landscape, wild, of rare botanical varieties and protected fauna. This diversity of culture is conducive to the production of expressive, elegant and generous wines, developing their aromas with majesty. Our rosé, the flagship product of our estate, comes from a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Counoise, it offers a very clear colour, with great aromatic intensity and surprising finesse. Its notes of nectar and vine peach are fully expressed in our southern cuisine.
Grandson of a winegrower, we have been producing wines in the Coteaux d'Aix en Provence appellation for 3 generations. Different domains, but always with the same objective of expressing the potential of the terroir concerned. Today, the estate of the Vallon des Glauges offers us a fantastic range of wines that allow us to produce very contrasting wines with always this common framework, a sign of a strong terroir.
For me, the passion for the wine world starts in the vineyards. It took years and meetings to find so much interest without the cellar. Many experiences in the countries of the new world (USA, South Africa, Argentina, Australia) have enabled me to acquire a very enriching oenological background, particularly for the vinification of rosé wines.
The many trips have also awakened me to wine marketing, today I deeply regret the hypocritical enthusiasm of organic marketing. This is why reasoned cultivation seems to us to be more coherent and more adapted to our production. The Domaine du Vallon des Glauges is planted with twelve grape varieties, Ugni Blanc, Rolle, Chardonnay, Clairette, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise Each year we produce 60% rosé, 25% red and 15% white.
