Domaine du Vieux Pressoir benefits from an exceptional terroir and produces organic wines in the Saumur and Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame appellations.
Anecdotes about the domain
The Vagnon Family did some work in 2017 to create access to the underground cellars that have existed for centuries. Since then, we've been raising our bubbles on slats in this beautiful space and we can show you around!
The domain's short story
The Domaine du Vieux Pressoir is a family winery whose origins date back to 1890. It was passed down within the Albert family for five generations, before being sold in 2015 to Claude Vagnon and his family, all of whom are eager to continue this beautiful story. Our practices in the vineyard and in the cellar are the object of constant and meticulous care, in the respect of the standards of the organic agriculture.
The winemaker's pride
Located on the borders of the Saumur region, the Domaine du Vieux Pressoir benefits from an exceptional terroir. It produces Saumur and Saumur - Puy Notre Dame appellation wines, whose expression reflects the typicity of this terroir. The 26 ha of the estate are mainly planted with Chenin and Cabernet franc on two different terroir slopes: the Jurassic terroir and the Turonian terroir.
