Our vineyard flourishes in the commune of Saint-Christol, a pretty village between the Mediterranean and the Cévennes. Our sunny vines produce mainly in the AOP Coteaux du Languedoc appellation but also in Saint-Christol, our vines are rooted in a wide variety of terroirs but most of them are on terraces. This mixture of pebbles, marl and alluvium is what will define the identity of our wines in the future. Our grape varieties respect those authorised by the appellation, so we have Syrah, Merlot, Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-sauvignon, Chardonnay and some others. Our location close to the Mediterranean allows our vines to enjoy the sea breeze, which gives them a certain freshness. The vine is a capricious product that requires a lot of attention, the work must be cared for throughout the year. This is an essential condition for the quality of the grapes harvested. The weather also plays a role, however, the winegrower cannot change it, his work must be adapted to this fact! the winegrower's rhythm is regulated by the seasons, from November to March it is the period of pruning c that will affect the fertility of the vine. From March to April we proceed to the binding which consists in attaching the "shoots" branches which carry the buds on the main yarn. From May to July, it is the period of lifting and trellising, it is a question of raising the vines on the wires in order to facilitate photosynthesis but also the work in the vines. For 8 days in June, the vine is in bloom! Traditionally it is said that the harvest will be 100 days later. From June to the harvest, the winegrower's job is to supervise the bunches to ensure that they mature properly. This moment is called the trimming. Then the harvest, the promise of a new vintage!

Our story

Our family estate has 65 hectares of land labelled Terra Vitis in the heart of Saint-Christol. The grapes of our top-of-the-range red wines are hand-picked to keep their quality and then go through carbonic maceration. To keep the freshness and natural humidity, our cellar is semi-buried. It also allows us to optimize the quality of our raw material by working with gravity. The soils of this historical terroir are very well known and help the grapes to mature well. Our history begins in 1993 when, with the support of our parents, we choose to showcase the best of our terroir by launching our own wine after spending some time working in a cooperative. This transition was a real investment that had its difficult moments, however, as our eldest said: "We wanted to go all the way with the product, and no longer just to see our production remain anonymous. How can I say this? In 1997, we renovated a building in order to make a barrel ageing. We also managed to hire two employees! In 2004, after having built a storage shed, we built a cellar to create a sales area in a 16th century building. We are expanding the cellar in 2011 to meet the quality control we need for our different vintages. Stones from the Pont du Gard are used, this allows us to provide aesthetics and insulation. Finally, in 2012 we will install photovoltaic panels because we want to produce in an environmentally friendly way and with a sustainable farming method... Our story does not end there, you allow us to continue it every day! Come by our estate to taste our wines and see for yourself the result of these years of work.

Other little stories

This plot has been used for vine cultivation since 1816. Eight generations have passed through it with one common goal in mind: to preserve this historic terroir, recognized since 1149. We offer activities for everyone all year round! (exhibitions, visits, accommodation in the heart of the estate, reception of motorhomes via France Passion, oeno ride on an electric scooter). The winegrowers will be happy to talk to you about their passionate profession but also about this way of life punctuated by nature.
