Our choice of grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, clearly encourages thoughtful, respectful farming. We use integrated farming methods. This means we don't use anything classified as dangerous. We don't use any excess products, not even copper or sulfur. By varying our techniques and adapting to the seasons, we are able to maintain good health. On the estate, 70% of the vines are over 45 years old. They produce complex wines, both fruity and elegant. This quality comes at a price: low yields. Our aim is to preserve the myriad of yeasts present on the skins of the logs: they guarantee the expression of the different climates. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, and the vinification is traditional and natural. The wines are then matured in oak barrels with the same care and attention, without the use of inputs. Finally, bottling may or may not be preceded by clarification or filtration.
One of the oldest winegrowing families in Savigny-lès-Beaune, the estate has been family-owned for several generations, and is currently run by Jean-Marc Naudin, grandson of Paul Naudin in Arnay-le-Duc. Jean-Marc Naudin was keen to develop the Côte-de-Nuits winegrowing business. So it was only natural for him to move into an authentic 18th-century vaulted cellar, the former cooperative cellar of the famous village of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The estate now encompasses 15 appellations, half in Côte de Beaune - Savigny, Pommard, Corton - and half in Côte de Nuits - Nuits Saint-Georges, Vosne Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny - with several 1er crus and one grand cru particularly focused on excellence.
Jean-Marc Naudin comes from one of the oldest winegrowing families in Savigny-les-Beaunes. Jean-Marc, himself the grandson of the winegrower of the Maison Paul Naudin, wanted to settle in Côte de Nuits in an old cooperative cellar with vaulted cellars to develop his own activity.
