Anecdotes about the domain
La Fourmone has its semantic roots in the word "Fromentum": wheat; the wheat of today that was once grown on the estate's land. The region, the climate and the land encouraged people to cultivate vines in Vacqueyras. The cultivation of wheat remains part of La Fourmone's heritage, which is why we have chosen its ear as the emblem of our house.
The domain's short story
The vineyard consists of 40 hectares. We work the vines in organic agriculture. Each parcel benefits from a work adapted to its soil. Thus we respect the expression of the grape variety on a soil. Our Vacqueyras vines are mainly located around the Domaine. The Gigondas vines are located on the southern slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The vineyard benefits from a lot of sunshine and perfect ventilation. The vinification takes place in Vacqueyras in the heart of the vineyard.
