"Domaine Mandourelle is located in the heart of the Corbières, in the place called Mandourelle in Villesèque des Corbières. My family and I fell in love with this region, its landscapes and especially its wines. We then looked for a historical estate with strong potential and we chose Domaine Mandourelle. It is isolated, only one small road passes by us. The terroirs are protected and preserved. The work in the vineyard as well as in the cellar is very rigorous, our plot selections are drastic, our yields are very low, our harvests are manual, and the results obtained are of high quality. It is a wonderful adventure that began in 2013 and was made possible thanks to the entire Mandourelle team that surrounds us.
Being a winegrower means listening, observing and appropriating your land, your terroir, your vines, in order to extract the best from them and share your wines. Being a winegrower is a passion, pure happiness and a great adventure that you never get tired of! Each winegrower has a wine that more or less resembles him. The wine that most resembles me is Domaine Mandourelle Rouge 3 stars. It is our top-of-the-range wine, which embodies the best of the best. It comes from our oldest parcels of grenache and syrah, which we choose with a very rigorous parcel approach and for which we pay the greatest attention. Yields are very low, around 15 hl per hectare, and production is also very low, with only 2,500 to 3,000 bottles produced per cuvée. Since the 2014 vintage, we have been bottling our wines for our greatest joy. We started with reds and rosés and in 2 years we will also produce whites. We have invested a lot and completely redesigned the vineyard, the cellar and the estate to offer the best.
"We want to keep Domaine Mandourelle alive all year round and for us Mandourelle is 50% wine, 50% life: 50% wine with great wines in Corbières and Languedoc and 50% life with the redevelopment of the Domaine into 5 luxury gîtes. We want people to come to the Domaine, live and share our passion while enjoying our wines and the landscape. The quality and finesse of the red and rosé wines of our first vintage, 2014, already exceed our expectations! We are impatient that the 2015 will reveal all its secrets but for the reds we will still have to wait because our wines go into barrels and also into casks for the 3 stars... Patience!"
